Nissan March is equivalent to the Nissan Micra hatchback sold in the Indian market. Previously, the Nissan March when tested in with its rating for adult occupant protection downgraded from four to three stars. The frontal chest compression was high and the car showed unstable body shell performance contributing to the one star for adult occupant protection. In this year's crash test that also includes the side impact test, the results state that the side impact chest received marginal protection. The lack of seatbelt reminders as standard, which are key elements to warn passengers to use the seatbelt, contributed with the low score. The Nissan March does not offer ISOFIX anchorages as standard, therefore, the child restraint systems were installed using the adult seatbelt that showed, together with the selected child restraint system, limited protection to child occupants explaining the two stars for child occupant protection.
