Considering that this title only contains three words, I think it performs so many contortions of meaning in those three words that it ought to get a gold medal. Our first clue. What do you think?
The thrilling denouement of this film takes place at the brink of the Riechenbach Falls in Switzerland, a stage-set just as exciting in the film as it was in this watercolour by JMW Turner. I was happily reminded that this painting was a huge influence on my training as a watercolour painter. This is not just drawing or sketching, this is the highest form of watercolour painting, up there with the best of oil paintings.

This festive season, Sherlock fans were treated to a special episode which brought the detective back to his Victorian roots. On one level the episode was the straight-forward mystery of an abominable and vengeful bride. Yet, it was also a means for Sherlock to get closer to his nemesis Moriarty and discover how and why he had returned. Turner that is on display at The Higgins Bedford until April 10 th The Reichenbach Falls are the scene of a famous showdown between Sherlock and Moriarty in the original short story by Conan Doyle. It is the second time the painting has appeared. It was previously featured at the end of series two, when Sherlock appeared to die in a fall from a building.

Friday, January 13, Sherlocked. The Reichenbach Falls also happens to be the scene of the famous meeting between Sherlock and his archenemy Moriarty. This was intended to be the last of the Sherlock Holmes stories however, pressure from fans brought Sherlock back, firslty in the prequel The Hound of the Baskervilles and then returning Holmes for good in The Adventure of the Empty House published in Sherlock fans cannot fail to have noticed that the upcoming episode is titled 'The Reichenbach Fall'. You can see a preview here. But more then that, we are very excited to know that the aforementioned Turner painting is likely to feature in the episode. We're not yet sure for how long, where, when, or even if it will certainly feature but we'll be keeping our eyes peeled!
